Travel Tamegroute* is a Berber family business, whose main actors are Tarik Aabi, his brother Nacer and their father Abdou Aabi. They welcome you with a smile in their agencies in Tamegroute and Marrakech.
Their great knowledge of Morocco and more particularly of the south and the desert, has been transmitted naturally for generations, as well as to their collaborators (guides, camel drivers , cooks, musicians…) They offer you a unique approach to authentic Morocco, a family approach, almost intimate, hardly possible with ‘too much’ tourist agencies.
The women of the family also play an important role, in particular Hassna and mother Aîcha, thanks to their knowledge of the traditions of hospitality and the culinary arts, which they gladly pass on to interested tourists, through courses that are always very popular (see section ‘cooking courses’).
*TAMEGROUTE is a quiet village of about 4500 inhabitants, 18 km from Zagora, known mainly for its typical green enamel pottery, whose factory can still be visited. Here, part of the pottery courses organized by ‘Travel Tamegroute’ take place. Pottery in various shapes is on sale in the various shops along the main road.
The Mausoleum of Mohammed Ben Nassir is a place of pilgrimage for many people in search of healing of the body or the spirit. Recommended visit to the famous and very old Koranic library, rich in unique texts, all sciences combined, and astonishing manuscripts on gazelle skin.
The very famous Koranic school, always assiduously attended, is adjacent.
Saturday souk day!…not to be missed.
