Since the 1960s, the seaside resort of Agadir has continued to develop and welcome many tourists, attracted by an exceptionally mild climate throughout the year. This model is based on the hotel industry.
Tourism development is also based on new structures: the Souss-Massa National Park, rural inns, associations for the production and promotion of local products (argan oil, saffron).
Agadir is the capital of the south and the first fishing port of Morocco. Its extraordinary beach of more than 6 km of fine golden sand, and its 300 days of sunshine a year. Its ultramodern international airport makes it a site accessible from all over the world.
On the other hand, the climate of the city is another asset: the winter is cool and humid, the summer is cooler. The surroundings of the city are stations for the discovery of Berber history and traditions, notably in Tiznit, Taroudant and Tafraout.
The Casbah or Kasbah of Agadir (Called Agadir Oufella in tachelhit, that is to -say Agadir-d’en-Haut) is the most majestic site in the city.
