M’HamidThe town of M’Hamid El Ghizlane has the geographical coordinates: 29°43′58″N 5°57′25″W. It is located south of the province of Zagora and south-east of the Souss-Massa-Draa region, along the Draa Valley, at the end of the N9 coming from Zagora (94 km), the capital of its province, via Tamegroute (78 km) and Fezouata (68 km).
It is part of a nomadic area and shelters, at an altitude of about 500 m2, an oasis, with a palm grove extending to Oued Draa, which separates the villages (or neighborhoods) of M’Hamid Bali (the old M’Hamid) and M’Hamid Jdid (the new M’Hamid)
Every year, Since 2003, the International Festival of Nomads has been held in M’Hamid El Ghizlane (March).
