Société Maroc Emirates Arabes Unis de Développement (SOMED), a private holding company with a capital of 950 Mdh, was founded in 1982, following the desire of the two countries to see further development of economic cooperation links between Morocco and the United Arab Emirates. Thus working to promote Emirati and international investment in Morocco, SOMED engages in structuring and innovative projects through strategic sectors with high potential for the development of the country. Historically positioned in the tourism and industry sector, the SOMED Group has continued to develop and diversify its strategic businesses. Today, the Group is present in the hotel industry, metallurgy, trading, olive oil production, fishing, real estate and education.
Resolutely part of a dynamic of continuous evolution, the SOMED Group aims to play a leading role in the sectors invested in, by strengthening the positioning of each of its subsidiaries in their sector of activity.
Currently, SOMED employs more than 1,500 people, spread over ten sites.
