Founded in March 1999, eDreams has grown to become one of the largest online travel agencies in Spain and one of the most important in Europe. We offer our customers more than 60,000 flights, more than 100 airlines and more than 150,000 hotels in more than 30,000 destinations around the world as well as vacations and car rentals. To do this, we provide our customers with state-of-the-art booking technologies and a search engine.
Our goal is to offer the widest choice of flights, hotels, stays at the most competitive prices. In addition to helping our customers organize their trips, we also offer online marketing solutions and advertising services to other companies. Based in Barcelona (Spain), we are present in more than 19 countries including France, Switzerland, Canada, Spain, Italy, Portugal, the United Kingdom and the United States. In 2011, eDreams entered the Turkish market to become the first international agency in this emerging market. We will continue our international expansion by investing in the launch of our services in new markets around the world.
Javier Pérez-Tenessa de Block is the co-founder of eDreams and CEO of the group. After studying aeronautical engineering in Madrid and obtaining an MBA from Stanford University (USA), he began his career as an engineer in the design of satellites. In 1995, he moved to Silicon Valley to work at AOL and then Netscape before co-founding eDreams with the aim of creating an online European travel agency.
In July 2010, the European investment fund Permira became the company’s largest shareholder. A year later, in July 2011, eDreams merged with GO Voyages and acquired Opodo and Travellink to found the ODIGEO group. With 12 million customers each year in 28 countries, ODIGEO is one of the world’s largest groups in the online travel sector.
