Dar Rehla, riad hotel guest house in Tetouan in northern Morocco is the culmination of the renovation of a traditional house or “dar” in this medina founded around 1492 and registered since 1997 on UNESCO World Heritage List and considered one of the most authentic and beautiful in Morocco and even the Arab world.
This small riad located in the medina of Tetouan, which was also the former capital of Spanish protectorate and located between Tangier and Chefchaouen, has been rehabilitated with respect for the Arab-Andalusian architecture of which Tetouan remains the depositary and by integrating various authentic decorative elements such as zelliges, grids and other carved woodwork, craft specialties Moroccan and recovered during the works.
But unlike cities like Fez, Marrakech or Meknes, imperial cities of Morocco, better known and highly prized by tourists, Tetouan is a city with a turbulent past. The majority of the houses there probably do not therefore have the imposing dimensions of the palaces and riads of these other cities and Dar Rehla, our guest house is no exception to the rule.
It is therefore in a house of relatively modest dimensions that we offer five guest rooms in a “Bed and Breakfast” type accommodation formula combining conviviality and originality.
