Dar Zinnia is an authentic Moroccan house, nestled in the heart of the Medina of Marrakech, the old town surrounded by its kilometers of pink ramparts. This house offers the advantage of easy access by car and on foot. Indeed you can come by car to the door to drop off your luggage for example, or walk to the various souks and most tourist sites.
As soon as you push the beautiful door of entrance, one is struck by the freshness and tranquility that reign inside, typical of this type of dwelling, better known today as the riad. Originally, “riad” described a garden with a small pond in the middle. Over the centuries, the name riad was extended to the house surrounding the garden to finally apply to urban housing with a small central courtyard with flowers and trees, adorned with a fountain and a small basin.
With the rise of tourism, the word riad is often associated with the concept of a guest house, sometimes having a swimming pool, a 20th century addition. Dar Zinnia (dar = house in Arabic) is a real traditional Marrakchia house which, thanks to a complete renovation, offers the comfort to which we are all accustomed. Simplicity reigns here and provides a state of well-being increased by the discreet service and the typical Moroccan kindness of the caretaker and the housekeeper.
