La Corrida Many pass by to snack on a dish, without knowing the history that surrounds them. La Corrida is however more than a restaurant, it is a small haven of peace which has vibrated, for 70 years, to the rhythm of its heavy past which gives another meaning to the Arab-Andalusian term.
It’s a restaurant, yes, but also a museum. And an institution, lost near the Mers Sultan roundabout. This American club bought 70 years ago quickly transformed into a little corner of Andalusia. The bulls’ heads are real, of course. There are also banderillas, all the material for bullfighting.
This is the outfit of Luis Miguel Dominguín, famous matador. There, the cape of El Cordobés. Further on, some hats and unusual objects occupy tables that many would have used to add cutlery. Looking up, you can admire posters announcing the shows of the time, in the 70s.
The back wall is covered with a huge fresco. Women in Andalusian dresses, men on horses… And bulls, of course, and they are still there, bringing a taste of yesteryear to the atmosphere of the place. The mezzanine near the bar, offers a spectacular view of the sky, just look up to see the stars under a flamenco or Latin tune, of course.
