Dar Rhizlane, prestigious residence of Hivernage, an address, a moment whose flavor borders on the enjoyment of a plot of princely tranquility.
Set back from a tree-lined street, the mysterious building is revealed, majestic, behind century-old eucalyptus trees and an imposing wrought iron gate. Designed in the style of a pleasant palace, the house reflects the elegance of the bourgeois villas of Marrakech.
The arrival is on one level between the water gardens planted with water hyacinth, water lilies and papyrus. The zellige fountain is crumbling under a thick carpet of rose petals, the subtlety of the tone is quickly given!
The entrance follows a long and narrow vaulted corridor, like a Derb in the Medina. Further on, springing from the ceiling, a massive, magnificently shaped wrought-iron chandelier-candlestick hangs profusely from its “oxblood” silk pompoms.
The rooms bear the evocative name of the perfumes of the Orient, Musk, Sandalwood, Jasmine… A faithful echo of the thousand scents exhaled, caught up during a stroll through the succession of landscaped universes. Each one designed by Ahmed Sadki and his wife Catherine in different styles, they all pleasantly open onto an Andalusian garden or a flowery terrace.
The left wing celebrates feminine voluptuousness and gracefully names the suites. Thus, Aïda, Soraya, Leïla… reveal their hushed mysteries by proudly eyeing the right wing with its suites Bilal, Shahine or Marwane, first names borrowed from legendary heroes here. These places of life each divulge their history and their oriental roots in their own way. Silks and velvets mix with cedar wood and chiseled stucco.
The lounges with large sofas strewn with cushions invite relaxation and idleness “just like at home”. The French windows open onto the interior of the Palace reveal an orange grove in the shade of shimmering bougainvillea and an unexpected palm grove: a fragrant setting for the swimming pool and secret corners of the garden.
A path crosses a fragrant variegated rose garden and leads to the colonial wing signed in 1942. The art deco architecture houses the fireplace lounge and the dining room over which the famous chef Zakia watches over with great talent and passion. The honey and amber tones nourish a cozy atmosphere bathed in the transparency of the bay windows. The Hamam, a little further, keeps its promises of softness and well-being.
In the evening, the gardens put on their richly woven mantle of night with sparkling gold threads. Lanterns, verrines, lanterns, tealight holders and floating candles weave sensual flames in a dance of the magical wind.
Like a ritual, this show features Hotel Dar Rhizlane Marrakech, its women and men to the delight of their guests.
