60 km from Marrakech, in the direction of Taroudant, Chez Momo is a Berber-style hotel nestled in the heart of untouched and grandiose nature on the foothills of the High Atlas, and is about 1000 meters above sea level. After the tumult of the red city of Marrakech, what a joy to discover this haven of peace overlooked by snow-capped peaks in winter and recently adorned with a magnificent lake surrounded by holm oaks, Aleppo pines, eucalyptus and junipers. crisscrossed by countless mule tracks and red dirt roads.
And it is at the bend of these Berber paths and red dirt roads that the hostel appears. Like everyone under the name of Chez Momo, it is appropriate to speak today of Chez Momo II. Because because of the ever-increasing water needs of the “pearl of the south, Marrakech”, it was the construction of the Asni dam which gave birth to the new reservoir which swallowed up the first hotel inn at the end of 2008. Momo I.
But more was needed to discourage Momo the Berber. On a magnificent wooded site of 7000 m2 overlooking the lake, he got back to work and in a few months a new inn, entirely built in traditional materials by companies from the High Atlas and craftsmen from the village of Ouirgane, was born. /p>
